Private - 1st South African Infantry Brigade ; Served with Hartigan’s Horse in GSWA 1914 1914 - 1915 ; served with 2nd Regiment in Egypt WIA at Mersa Matruh 23 January 1916, died of wounds the following day
Buried at Chatby Military 7 War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt
(His brother Edward also died in WWI)
DOLD, Eric Gilbert (Kingswood College, Grahamstown, E.C.) Age 19, died 30 March 1918
1st South African Infantry Brigade ; Served with the 2nd Regiment in France ; WIA at Marries Wood 4 March 1918 ; POW died of wounds in German War Hospital, Le Cateau 6 days later
